The 2nd International Symposium on New EnergyTechnologies and Power Systems (NETPS 2025) Successfully Concluded in Hangzhou
The 2nd International Symposium on New Energy Technologies and Power Systems (NETPS 2025) has been successfully held in Hangzhou from May 23rd to 25th, 2025. This event was hosted by Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU), organized by its School of Automation, and sponsored by Zhejiang University and Academic Exchange Information Center (AEIC), with technical support from IEEE and its Nanjing Section, and comprehensive technical sponsorship from AiScholar. Focusing on three topics—“AI methods for power systems”, “distribution-microgrid-consumer coordination”, and “resilient operation under extreme disasters and carbon emissions”, the event addressed challenges in global energy transitions and charted the blueprint for the development of smart, low-carbon power systems. The conference received 137 paper submissions, including 72 from universities such as Zhejiang University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Wuhan University, North China Electric Power University, Shandong University, and Xi’an Shiyou University; 29 from State Grid and China Southern Power Grid; and 11 from other industry partners. The conference program featured keynote speeches, oral presentations, poster sessions, and award ceremonies. Conducted in a hybrid format, the event attracted over 100 participants from over 40 universities, power enterprises, and research institutions worldwide, fostering lively and engaging discussions.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Jianmin Zhang, the conference Chair and faculty member of Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU), and Prof. Yutao Qiu, Chair of IEEE PES Zhejiang Chapter, delivered addresses. Prof. Zhang detailed the conference’s submission and participation metrics, extending a warm welcome to attending dignitaries and scholars. Prof. Qiu highlighted the event’s strong alignment with IEEE PES strategic priorities—specifically “renewable energy integration” and “grid resilience enhancement”—emphasizing the broad prospect of innovation driven by university-industry partnership.
